All The Beauties
Marie and I stepped out of our comfort zone today. Standing out in front of our local co-op on a mission, feeling like solicitors though, we dared to connect with women of all ages to ask them a very simple, but powerful question: "What Makes You Beautiful?"
At first, it would often feel like an intrusion of a strangers privacy as we'd sputter out our intentions to create this educational tool. When they felt our sincerity though they'd soften and many were quite supportive of our desire to help women empower themselves, to stop comparing and to learn about what beauty means across a broad spectrum.
This project will be a video production that we share on our website and across social media avenues that are encouraging feminine leadership in all its diverse forms.
One of the largest take-away's that I experienced as we conducted this video survey was that every time I stepped up to connect with another woman I could instantly see their beauty. Not just a few of the women were beautiful, ALL OF THEM WERE BEAUTIFUL!
At the end of our interview with them we'd share our gratitude and offer them a flower. A beauty for a beauty. That's a nice exchange, right?
